Attention star gazers everywhere, you will be able to see a rare and unique display from the cosmos tonight. Jupiter and Venus have been on a “collision course” all month and this week they will be at their closest points.

Tonight and tomorrow night, Venus and Jupiter will be so close that they may appear as one, incredibly large bright spot in the sky. For the past month astrologists and sky gazer enthusiasts have been tracking the motion of the planets and they have been getting closer and closer. If you look through binoculars you will see, Venus, Jupiter, the Beehive Cluster of stars and of course our moon all within a few degrees of separation.

Another interesting and rare star you will see is Regulus, the brightest star in the constellation. This

One of Delray Beach’s biggest events of the year is the 4th of July Celebration located on A1A and Atlantic Avenue. There will be tons of fun and fabulous events you will only find in south Florida. The Loxahatchee River District’s River Center is enthusiastic so far about the 2nd Annual Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament that has been going on since June and will be continuing until July 11th.

There are lots of young anglers that are submitting their fun fishing photos to the contest that is proven to be one of the River Center’s most popular events! This is a completely friendly competition for anyone between the ages of 5 and 17 and young anglers can participate at any time but points do matter! Anglers will be accumulating points in this catch and release tournament as they photograph with their catch and submit their catch logs.. The more fish they catch the greater the points however,  the more variety of species that is catfight the better

4th on Flagler is a popular event in West Palm Beach that brings people from all over Florida to celebrate. It is a 3-day patriotic weekend brimming with fun activities, food, music and fireworks!

 Friday July 3rd- BBQ, Brews and Blues

Taking place on Friday, July 3rd from 5:00pm to 9:00pm in the Historic Northwest Neighborhood is BBQ, Brews and Blues. This fun filled event showcases the soul food of the south and craft beer. Guests will be able to experience everything from delicious pulled pork to peach cobbler. Craft beers will be served from a variety of different states. Samples of the brews and BBQ will be free. Guests will get to taste up to 10 free samples of the beers as well.

July 10th and 11th Harbourside Place in Jupiter will host a Lionfish Derby to benefit the Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation. The foundation is named after Andrew Harris, a 26 year old man who passed away last year in a boating accident.

The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation raises money to build artificial reefs to enhance the local marine environment. The foundation is building forty unique, 6 by 8 foot free form concrete modules which will be set off the coast of Jupiter in August of this year.

The derby will begin first thing in the morning, at sunrise, and will continue through the day until 4:00pm. The contestants must be in with all of their catches by 4:00pm to be scored by the judges.

History enthusiasts and carpenters are assembling the concluding touches to the former Henry Flagler Train Depot as they preparing to open on August 1, 2015 at Sawfish Bay Park in Jupiter, Florida.

The train depot has been re-built out of pine from North Florida, along with diamond shaped shingles and hardware that is very closely related to what was used a century ago. “The work has included gutting the interior, installing a new roof, painting, repairing fire damage, adding a deck and other repairs on the structure that was built in 1915. There was lots of fire damage,” said retired Lantana architect Don Edge, who is among many individuals and companies that donated time and material for the reconstruction of the one-room structure.”

You can get an up close and personal encounter with thousands of turtles every Wednesday through Saturday in June and July right here in Palm Beach County. These guided turtle walks allow visitors to learn about and observe the nesting and egg laying process of sea turtles.

Guests are guided by experienced Loggerhead Marine life Center scouts. Tours go throughout pre-patrolled, designated sections of Juno Beach. Taking place over the next several, summer weeks at Standing Ovation Performing Arts Studio is a special art class just for kids. Every Monday beginning today and continuing on for 6 weeks is a water color and ink class.

Children can embrace their creativity and playfulness through the artistic expressions.  These educational classes will help young artists learn techniques in water color and ink line drawings. The ink drawings are to be done without the initial use of a pencil. The water color techniques will help kids focus on their expression of color. The projects will include still life and portraiture art.
