In 1987, an iron cannon was found by two surfers who reported it to the lifeguard, Peter Leo, on Jupiter Beach. Two days later, the same lifeguard found the cannon while swimming and contacted Captain Dominic Addario, a master mariner and marina owner, for help investigating the mysterious find. Throughout two weeks, they discovered more cannons, then silver “pieces of eight”, rare gold coins, and a 78-pound ingot of silver!

Later to be known at “Jupiter Wreck,” the artifacts and treasure was found to be from the wreck of San Miguel De Archangel in 1659. According to archival records, this ship was most likely an “aviso”, a relatively fast ship who’s goal was to carry crown documents to Mexican colonies from Spain, and report back to the monarchy

One of the nation's best breweries is right here in beautiful Jupiter. Civil Society Brewing Company, which opened around 2 years ago, has gotten nonstop attention since day one.

The brewery has been named a "Brewery to Watch," by DRAFT Magazine, it's #5 on the "Top 10 Best New Breweries in the World," by RateBeer.com, and it's also one of "The Best New Breweries in America" according to Thrillist.

Why? Well, their beer, their location and they're super cool. Co-owned by three beer connoisseurs, the love of the drink fuels their fire. Their goal to "bring a little Florida sunshine to your tongue" definitely comes through with their hopped-up beers, especially the double IPAs. Civil Society was one of the first breweries in the Jupiter area,

Next month a new mini golf course is set to open in downtown Abacoa in Jupiter. The 18-hole mini golf course is going to be called Golden Cub Mini Golf.

The course is designed by Nicklaus Design, a company founded and run by the retired professional golfer and Palm Beach County native Jack Nicklaus. The golf design company brought experts in to create a smaller version of a typical golf course. The mini golf course includes sloped grounds, landscaping and bunkers.

Scattered around throughout the course visitors will find giant yellow bears, which are inspired by Nicklaus’ nickname “the Golden Bear”. The golf course has partnered with Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and for each full round of golf, $ 1 dollar will be donated to the foundation.

Satisfy your sweet tooth one bite at a time.  It's common to crave sugar, and both men and women get sugar cravings for the same reasons. Sugar cravings stem from both physical and psychological causes. Did you know when you eat sugar your brain absorbs more of the amino acid tryptophan from your blood? Your brain uses tryptophan to manufacture serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for feelings of comfort and elevated mood. The effect on your mood is the same whether you eat fruit or refined sugar, however, consuming refined sugar can lead to wide swings in blood sugar levels, insulin resistance and nutritional deficiencies.  We all know that treats made with refined sugar don't contain the same healthy nutrients found in fruits.
