Located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park just west of Boca Raton, Daggerwing Nature Center is run by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. The nature center offers a wide variety of programs and events of adults and children of all ages. All programs are by reservation only, and reservations can be made by either calling 561-629-8760 or visiting the nature center. The following programs and events are currently taking place:
From 3:15-3:30pm every day you can have a chance to feed some of the animals that call the nature center home. All ages are welcome to feed the animals and no revervations are required.
Animal Keeper For a Day
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be an animal keeper? Well, on January 3rd you can do just that for a day. Work behind the scenes with animal care staff and volunteers to feed diets, clean exhibits, and provide enrichments to the animals at the nature center. This event is for everyone ages 8 and up and is $10 per person.
This program focuses on the wonderful world of reptiles. You can learn more about them and even get up close and personal with some of the reptiles that call the nature center home. Radical Reptiles will be held January 12th at 10:30am. The event is for everyone 5 and older and is $3 per person.
On January 18th at 6pm, there will be a guided nighttime boardwalk tour looking at nature from the point of view of the nocturnal animals. The event is free to the public and is for everyone 8 years old and older.
