In addition to Florida’s gorgeous beaches, beautiful weather, excellent theatres and art, the Sunshine State offers even more … local breweries and pubs offering craft beer.

What is better than near perfect weather and bluest, blue water and white sand beaches? Actually, not much, but Florida’s craft beer industry consists some of the best brewers.  This is not just about beer, its craft beer!  There are close to 100 breweries and brewpubs around the state.  Florida is a craft beer drinker’s paradise.

Florida pours have been getting quite a bit of national attention.  Tequesta Brewing Company, located at 287 U.S. Highway One, Tequesta is South Florida’s first microbrewery.  The Village of Tequesta is proud of its stunning residential communities with intracoastal and riverfront lots along with its very own organically certified brewer, Tequesta Brewing Company,  with over 40 different specialty beers and winner of the Silver Medal at the 2011 Great American Beer Festival.

From the beer crafters in the state’s capital of Tallahassee, such as Proof Brewing Company, 1717 West Tennessee Street, Tallahassee all the way down to the brewpubs located in the Florida Keys, like Islamorada Beer Company, 82770 Old Highway, Islamorada, craft beer is here to stay.  Check out Beer in Florida for a complete list of breweries and brew pubs with in the Sunshine State.

According to a Mintel study, 49% of “Millenials” and 40% of”GenXers” are regular craft beer drinkers.  Half of them were college educated and earned over $50,000.  These young, adventurers enjoy travel, food based, learning and adventurous vacations. Interestingly enough, these likes translated into their discovery of new beer tastes and the discovery of new beers, which explains a resurgence of an old craft.  Instead of a trip to wine country, plan a trip to brew country…visit Florida and sample delicious craft brews!
