South Florida hosts The International Ballet Festival Miami which features a mix of dance film series, art exhibits, workshops, master classes and more. Attendees can see gifted young ballet artists as well as performances of famous classical and neo-classical ballet repertoire. The mix of modern and contemporary styles feature exciting and eclectic programs.

The 23rd International Ballet Festival of Miami 2018 is considered the most important in the United States. The festival will present an opportunity  to see an array of performances featuring the best ballet, modern and contemporary companies with extraordinary national and international artists. Over 200 dancers from at least 20 prestigious ballet companies globally will be performing.

A new set of school supplies and a fresh haircut to celebrate stepping up a grade in school is a milestone many Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens kids take for granted.  The fresh back to school salon haircut is a luxury for many.  Through the Share-A-Haircut program, Hair Cuttery salons attempt to provide every child in the area with this “simple but impactful service that will help send them back to school with confidence and enthusiasm to kick-off the year.”

For the next week, PGA Commons in Palm Beach Gardens is hosting an event called "Give Back, Get Back" where shoppers can donate school supplies for needing local children in exchange for 10 percent off at participating restaurants and shops. 

Now through August 5th, patrons can donate pencils, paper, backpacks and other items to get 10 percent off at Vic & Angelo’s, Prosecco Café, Menchie’s, The Tux Shop, Bamboo Clothiers, T is for Table, New Beginnings, Onessimo Fine Art and Studio E Gallery.

While Palm Beach County's homelessness rate has dropped 18.6% over the last year alone, there are still around 4,000 homeless children in the area who are in need of supplies with school starting in the next couple of weeks.

En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and it refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and heart of a landscape or subject by integrating natural light, color and movement into their works. This past Wednesday, the Palm Beach County public school system was awarded an “A” from the Florida Department of Education. The grade comes from factors including students’ high test scores on state exams and the county’s high rate of graduation. Palm Beach County students outperformed every other county on their required state exams and most schools in the area average a graduation rate of 90 percent with some charter schools even reaching 100 percent.

State records show that this year, 42 percent of public and charter schools in Florida earned an “A"- a 6 percent increase over last year. Of the seven largest school districts in the state, Palm Beach and Miami – Dade counties were the only two given an “A.” None of the 67 county school districts

Students from four local Palm Beach County schools have been chosen to learn at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts for the 2017-2018 program of “Disney Musicals in Schools”.

The center announced that they have received this grant from Disney in collaboration with educators to bring theater programs to local students in the community. The program is an outreach developed by Disney’s Theatrical Productions to help create sustainable theater programs to elementary schools.

The four schools selected are Egret Lake Elementary (West Palm Beach), Glade View Elementary (Belle Glade), Forest Park Elementary (Boynton Beach), and Starlight Cove Elementary (Lantana). These four schools will participate in a 17-week musical theater residency starting in
