If you have not taken advantage of the summertime only event, Glow Golf in West Palm Beach, this is your chance to experience it. Glow Golf is going on for only four more days before it closes until next summer. 

You and your friends can play a game of 9-hole mini golf along the backdrop of the Intracoastal Waterway. Each hole has a different, glow in the dark theme making it a fun journey through the course. Not only do the decorations light up but so do the clubs, balls and holes! The course is most fun at night when you can see all of the different colors but it is also open during the day. 

Glow Golf costs $2.50 per person per round of golf. The course is open daily from 12pm to 10pm until August 28th.

Most people when they think of Florida think of white beaches and the sparkling blue waters off the Atlantic Ocean. These sentiments are an accurate description of a part of Florida, South Florida.  The Sunshine State actually is scattered with diverse topography. Florida is part of the “Atlantic-Gulf Coastal Plain” which occupies much of the eastern and southeastern states.

The peninsula of Florida is essentially flat terrain.  Much of the land in Florida is barely above sea level. The highest point in the state is hilltop up in the panhandle.  It is only 345 feet above sea level in Walton County. Golf Digest recently came out with their annual list of the top golf courses in the United States. Golf Digest is the official magazine of the golf world and has compiled a list of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” since 1966.  Ranking at number 12 on that list this year is Seminole Golf Club in the Seminole Landing community. 

Located in Juno Beach, the Donald Ross designed course, directly on the Atlantic Ocean in South Florida, is one of the most private golf clubs in the entire country. The 6,836 yard, par-72 course was originally opened 1929 and boasts a very select membership.

Sandra Angulo Minarro of Port St Lucie earned Co-Medalist Honors on Monday at Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach Monday to earn a spot at the U.S. Women's Open this summer.

Minarro, who is a native of Mexico but has called Port St Lucie home for the past three years, shot rounds of 70 and 67 on Quail Ridge's South Course to share Co-Medalist Honors with Amateur Mika Liu in the 36-hole qualifier. Minarro plays mostly out of the PGA Golf Club but will venture to Dye Preserve to work with renowned instructor Jeff Leishman. Leishman's list of pupils include PGA Tour pros Will McKenzie, reigning Rookie of the Year Daniel Berger and Steve Marino. A subject due to be voted on July 19th by the town council involves the plans for a $500,000 mini golf course. This lavish mini course would be 18 holes and would find a home in the Jupiter community of Abacoa located on the northeast corner of Main Street and Chancellor Drive. 

On May 10th the planning and zoning commission of the town council “unanimously recommended approval” of the course as stated by the Palm Beach Post. The mini golf course if approved would be open for business in about a year’s time. The currently vacant property in which this mini golf course would be located was purchases in 2015 for $5.1 million. The property include 93,000 square feet of Abacoa commercial property and 3 acres of vacant land that would be dedicated to the

Jack Nicklaus, who is known as one of the greatest golfers to ever play the game as well as an acclaimed golf course designer, is adding video game creator to his list of accolades.

Located within beautiful Palm Beach County is the picturesque city of Palm Beach Gardens.  Palm Beach Gardens prior to development was forest, cattle ranches and outlying was swamplands.  In 1959, land developer John D. MacArthur announced plans to build a community and would build homes for 55,000.  He planned on naming the soon to be built city Palm Beach City.  The Florida State Legislature rejected the name and he renamed the proposed city Palm Beach Garden.

MacArthur’s “garden city” grew quickly in the 1960’s.  The city had a population of 7,000 residents by the early 1970’s. Palm Beach Gardens became the home of the Professional Golfers Association and today there are numerous golf courses and many beautiful communities and neighborhoods
