Sloan’s Ice Cream, Palm Beach Gardens, is a unique ice cream and sweets shoppe. The first location of Sloan’s was in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1999. Their goal was “to create an ice cream utopia for the young and young at heart.” They have succeeded with locations in South Florida, California and most recently in Kuwait.

Florida Atlantic University, Department of Visual Arts and Art History will present the 2016 Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition “Space”, April 15 through May 6.  The exhibition will be located at Ritter Gallery, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. 

“Space” is the “thesis exhibition for emerging artists and designers working in various media including drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, graphic design, digital media and photography.  Themes presented in the exhibition will span social and cultural critiques and conceptual investigations of form and material.”

The art show will feature a varied collection of two and three-dimensional pieces of work.  The graduating artists will receive their Bachelors of Fine Arts degrees in graphic design and studio

Palm Beach County’s first tourists were the early settlers. The area was known as “Lake Worth”, named for Major General William Jenkins Worth.  General Worth fought in the Second Seminole War.

South Florida’s sea turtle organizations have rescued sea turtles that have been accidentally injured or suffering for many years. Four decades ago, biologists thought green sea turtles might go extinct.

Federal wildlife officials have reclassified green turtle species from endangered to threatened. There will not be significant changes in terms of regulations in Florida. Green turtles have been protected under the Endangered Species A since 1978    

Local organizations, such as Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno, is one of Florida’s most unique non-profit cultural destinations focused on ocean and sea turtle conservation, education, research, and rehabilitation.

In the United States, over 266 million people have cell phones. While it is hard to imagine Florida life without it, you increase the risk of having an accident by 400% every time you use your cell phone when driving. If it is necessary, use a Bluetooth earpiece or other hands-free device.

Florida has passed the “Florida Ban on Texting While Driving Law”.  Drivers can still use phones for music, navigation apps, or to pick up a call as long as a hands-free device is then used. The word Easter has an interesting history of origin.  To some it is the celebration of spring’s arrival.  To others it is a religious holiday signifying deliverance.
