We love our dogs in South Florida – and South Florida, for that matter, is a great place to have a dog, its great year-round weather makes it the perfect environment. For those of you who live in Palm Beach, here are a few great parks to bring your dog.

Pooch Pines

If you live in Jupiter, Jupiter Island or Juno Beach check out The Loggerhead Marinelife Center, it’s a non-profit education and ocean conservation facility located on the Atlantic Ocean in Palm Beach County, Florida. The center specializes in a variety of exhibits, live sea turtles and other coastal creatures which include a massive prehistoric Archelon sea turtle replica, saltwater aquariam and displays of local wildlife, as well as educational displays about South Florida's marine environment.

With a cold front or rather, I should say a “cool” front, moving through Jupiter this week, many of you will be looking to move your cardio from the treadmill to the turf. Thankfully Jupiter has a lot of great running trails for all you jogging enthusiasts. Here’s a guide to a few of our favorites.

Carlin Park

At Carlin Park, you can jog either on the mulch-lined track/obstacle course or right along the water. Either way, it’s a scenic option that’s sure to give you your share of vitamin D and fresh air along with everything else you typically get from jogging.

 The FITTEAM Palm Beaches Marathon presented by Jupiter Medical Center is this weekend, November 30 - December 2. The weekend-long event consisting of a Marathon, Half marathon, and 5k road race. Run on a course that winds along the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway next to Lake Worth in West Palm Beach, the Palm Beaches Marathon & Run Fest offers no shortage of beautiful vistas for runners in the full and half marathon events, as well as its relay and 5K races.
