South Florida is known for its award-winning parks and some of the state’s best kept secrets. The parks can be very impressive and spacious, some even have campgrounds and rivers.
The Sun-Sentintel wrote an article recently featuring some of the Best 7 County Parks in South Florida and Riverbend Park in Jupiter is on the list. The park is 665.62 acres and several improvements have recently been made to the park. The new improvements include an observation area, outdoor picnic pavilion, restrooms, new kayak launching stations, and a parking lot.
Riverbend Park is a popular park located on Indiantown Road near Jupiter Farms. Riverbend is becoming the latest recreational hotspot. The park has several rivers running through the park including the Loxahatchee River, plus there are plenty of kayak or canoe launches through the park to get out on the water and enjoy the view. Wildlife is also seen throughout the park and deer’s, turkeys, and even peacocks roam the park. The park also includes hiking and biking trails, fishing in fresh water, equestrian trails, several picnic areas, and more.
Riverbend is home and serves to preserve the Loxahatchee Battlefield, the second Seminole Indian War site, Loxahatchee National Wild and Scenic River, and a portion of the Ocean-to-Lake trail. Riverbend Park connects the Northeast Everglades Natural Area, Ocean-To-Lake Trail, Bluegill Trail, and the Northeast Everglades Trail systems.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset and is located at 9060 Indiantown Road in Jupiter.
