Smell the Fresh Baked Bread – Jupiter
The Town of Jupiter offers many dimensions for the senses. See the sparkling blue Atlantic Ocean, feel the beach sand between your toes and hear the palm fronds blow in the breeze. Add the delicious aroma of hot and fresh rustic bread coming out of the oven at Bread by Johnny, 1695 West Indiantown Road, Suite 6, in Jupiter.
Bread by Johnny is the aromatic bakery owned by Johnny VanCora. He attended William T. Dwyer High School over ten years ago and was known to sell treats. He would bring his product to school and wait for his regulars to call him. He’d grab it from his backpack or car and the deal went down. However, the deal wasn’t for contraband, it was for fresh loaves of bread!
The indie baker graduated from Dwyer and then headed off to Cornell University. Upon graduating from Cornell with a Degree in Hospitality, Johnny came back to the Jupiter area. His former baking partner from Cornell, Amie Friedman, is what Johnny calls his “right hand” in the successful business. Amie was working at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles when he told her he was opening bakery in Jupiter. She moved to Florida to help VanCora run the shop.
Often you can spot Johnny through the storefront window of Bread by Johnny. The bakery opened late November 2019 in a local Jupiter shopping plaza. He can be found shaping knolls of dough into various shaped loaves as he smiles and slides them into a gleaming, four-deck bread oven.
The shop is open Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Monday and Tuesday. The loaves cost between $5 and $11 and a full flat of focaccia is $18.
If you can’t make it to the bakery hit the green market: Bread by Johnny operates stands at Grandview Public Market’s Farmer’s Market (Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), and at the Palm Beach Gardens Green Market (Sundays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
