With South Florida’s famous Summer heat here to stay, one of the best things to do over the weekend, especially if you have kids, is hit the water. Here are a few of the best local waterparks to visit this Summer in the Palm Beaches.

Rapids Water Park

The Rapids is a local favorite, the park boasts one of the best lazy river rides along with a plethora of other fun water-rides, from the thrilling 70-foot vertical drop of Brain Drain to gentler, kid-friendly fare like Alligator Alley, where kids can balance on floating gators as they hang on to a rope net overhead. Rapids is great for groups, with lots of multi-person tube rides.

Admission is $42.99 Monday-Friday and $47.99 Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Are you and your dog in the mood to hit the beach? Well, if you’re in Jupiter, you’re in luck, the town is home to some of the best dog-friendly beaches on the East Coast.

Jupiter’s dog-friendly beach areas run along 2.5 mile stretch of beach from beach marker #25 at Marcinski Road going north to beach marker #59 on the south end of Carlin Park. You are welcome to bring your dog and let him or her play off the leash.

Because Jupiter is of the few places where you are allowed to bring your dog to the beach, and because that’s a privileged resident don’t want to lose, the Friends of Jupiter organization has put together the following common-sense rules to keep all beach-goers, both dog and human, happy.
