Head out to the Abacoa Community Park fields this Friday night for Family Movie Night. All are welcomed to attend the free outdoor movie event.

Gather your own chairs and blankets to watch the family-friendly movie on the giant two-story inflatable movie screen. The movie playing will be “The Secret Life of Pets 2”.

The story continues the first movie where a terrier named Max and his canine friends have a secret life after their owners leave them for work and school each day. “The Secret Life of Pets 2” stars Patton Oswalt, Kevin Hart, Harrison Ford, Eric Stonestreet and more.

Palm Beach County has some of the best biking trails in all of South Florida. Here are a few of our favorite spots.

The Hill

The Hill in West Palm Beach is one of the few actual hills in South Florida where you can bike some steep inclines to test your endurance. The bike path is made out of crushed shell rock and is approximately 2.4 miles long and about 2 feet wide. Even though you will ride through native forests, most of the trail is exposed to the sun, so wear appropriate clothing and apply sunblock.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center has added a new series to their monthly calendar. The new event is called Ocean Explorers After Dark.

Come and experience the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center after hours for a hands-on and engaging opportunity for children to experience and explore the center. Each month, the program will have a different unique theme and the program is geared toward children ages 6 to 10 years old.

The event includes a tour of the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, a chance to participate in interactive activities and lessons, and pizza.

Volleyball is a favorite pastime in the Palm Beaches. Especially now that the weather is cooling off, what better way to spend a Saturday or Sunday than playing outdoor volleyball with friends and family? Here are a few great places to play some volleyball in the South Florida sun.

Burt Reynolds Park

Burt Reynolds Park in Jupiter is located in northern Palm Beach County and houses the Jupiter Chamber of Commerce and the River Center. This 35.55 acres park runs laterally along 2000 feet of the Intracoastal Waterway. It includes a sand volleyball court, six ramps for boat launching for those boating enthusiasts. There are also plenty of picnic shelters, some including grills. Saltwater fishing is also allowed within the area.

The Florida Oceanographic Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1964 with the mission to inspire environmental stewardship of Florida’s coastal ecosystems through education, research and advocacy.

This event is free for all ages along Flagler Park’s waterfront. Riverbend Park is a 680-acre preserve in Jupiter and is an ideal destination for hikers who want a taste of the wilds of Southeast Florida without getting their feet wet. More than 15 miles of interconnected trails and roads make up the trail network. The hiking trails are engineered, broad walkways of compacted limestone. Signage and kiosks make it nearly impossible to get lost. It’s nature, tamed, making it accessible to city dwellers who’d otherwise never take a hike.

The park is open sunrise to one hour before sunset daily. Strollers are welcome. Trails, which are fortified with crushed Limerock, are shared with bicycles. The equestrian trails afford a more natural surface. There are portable toilets at several spots within the park. An
