Golf at Tequesta's Private Golf Club, Jupiter Hills


The 18-hole "Hills" course at the Jupiter Hills Club facility in Tequesta, Florida features 6,915 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 144 on Bermuda grass.  Designed by Thomas Fazio, ASGCA, the Hills golf course opened in 1970. Atilla Kardas manages the course as the General Manager.Jupiter Hills Club is a private golf course and does not offer online tee times to the general public.

            <title>Hole No. 9 at Jupiter Hills | Treacherous and Challenging?</title>

Yesterday I was doing a little research on Jupiter Hills in 
Tequesta.  It's amazing what you can find on the internet!  I discovered
 some really amazing and interesting things about Jupiter Hills Club.  
Did you know that there was a book written about Jupiter Hills??  It's 
called "The Jupiter Hills Story: Quarter Century of Golf"  I was able to
 find a used copy of the book for sale and it was $60!!!  I'm inclined 
to know what's in that book.


But that's not why I am 
writing this note.  I actually wanted to talk about the 9th Hole on the 
Hills course at Jupiter Hills.  Golf a Jupiter Hills has been rated in 
several magazines over the years as a top private club.  Bill Davis, a 
golfer and instructor at Jupiter Hills has been ranked as one of the top
 50 teachers by Golf Digest.  So the golf community at Jupiter Hills has
 something to be proud of.


I discovered in my research 
about Jupiter Hills that Hole No. 9 has been ranked as a hole that you 
must play before you die.  I read several articles: "Top 100 Golf Holes 
to Play," "Top 1001 Golf Holes," etc.  So what's so special about it?  
It's an UPHILL HOLE in FLORIDA!!!  And as if that wasn't enough, you 
have to get your ball over a sandy ravine filled with waste water and 
native vegetation.  Oh and not to mention the swirling breezes from the 
nearby Atlantic...AND this par 3 is on top of a sand dune, 40 feet from 
the tee box.


I've never played golf but this all sounds 
really challenging.  Anyone actually played this hole?  Is it as 
treacherous and challenging as the articles make it out to be?
