The petition reached the required 100,000 required signatures and the goal was to “Make Opening Day a National Holiday”.   The petition was sent to President Barack Obama proclaiming that today, March 31, should be declared an official day of national observance in the United States.  March 31, being the opening day games in Major League Baseball.
 
The White House said it is not going to happen because of “a lack of authority to create holidays.”  In an online letter, the White House specified that it is up to Congress to make those decisions.  The 2013 World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox will be honored at the White House.

Fans of the television show “American Horror Story” will be pleased with new details about the upcoming season.  Co-creator Ryan Murphy announced via his Twitter account that the fourth season will be called “Freak Show” and take place during the 1950’s in the small town of Jupiter, Florida.

Set in the seaside Town of Jupiter, during the 50’s, Jessica Lange plays a German ex-patriot who manages one of the last freak shows in the United States.  She and her group of unusual performers are struggling to keep the carnival afloat.

Will “Freak Show” deliver as many thrills as last seasons “Coven”?  Time will tell.  Next season will feature the return of Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, and Angela Bassett.

On Saturday, March 29th, the Village of North Palm Beach will be hosting its annual Heritage Day Parade and Festival.

The festivities will get under way at 11am starting with the parade. The parade will start at Village Hall and is scheduled to travel north on Eastwind Drive, west of Lighthouse Drive, and south on Anchorage Drive, before finally finishing at Anchorage Park. Anchorage Park will be the location of the Heritage Festival. The festival will take place from 12-8pm and will feature carnival rides, games, live bands, carnival rides, a buisness exp, and food and beverage vendors.

A lot of discussions and meetings about the redevelopment of the Jupiter Inlet Village have caused the Town Council to pause and revisit their approach for the area of Guanabanas, Square Grouper, Bubba Gump’s, Harbourside Place, etc.  Their vision is of “a pedestrian-friendly, vibrant, commercial environment that provides public access to the Inlet Village and its waterfront”.
