Golf has always been a staple and draw to the state of Florida. The year round sun and weather, plus the sprawling landscape has made it the perfect destination for golfers around the world for centuries. Routinely, Florida has been called the capital of the golf world. And if Florida really is that capital, well then the capital is thriving more now than arguably any time in the past.

A recent study shows that the game of golf has an $8.2 billion economic impact in Florida. That's more than amusement and theme parks like Disney, Epcot, Universal, and Bush Gardens (they bring in $5.4 billion annually), as well as medical equipment and supplies manufacturing ($6.5 billion). When you consider the indirect and induced activity driven by golf, that…

Paul Goydos survived more than just the rest of the field Sunday in the final round of the Allianz Championship at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, he survived the course as well.

“The way I was playing, I could easily have been three back,” he said. “The golf course played much harder today. Maybe I wasn’t handling the situation very well, but the greens were quicker, the hole locations were tougher. I just had to hang in there and make pars, see what happens.”

Make pars and hang in there is exactly what he did. On a day where nine different golfers held at least a share of the lead at different points, Goydos didn't falter, even when everyone around him seemed to be doing just that.

Playing in the final group for the second day in a row, Goydos played…

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has released an infographic depicting the 2014 Profile of Homebuyers and Sellers. The report unveiled a great deal of information about who is buying and who is selling their home here in the U.S. and why. The profile includes statistics about their age and income, the home search process, the characteristics of homes purchased and how buyers financed their purchase. The following is a summation of NAR’s findings.

WHO’S BUYING?

Today, Monday February 2, 2015 was the official day for the world’s most adored, seasonal forecaster, the groundhog. Groundhog Day has come and our furry friend has decided to give us six more weeks of winter.

Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil appeared from his burrow early this morning where he saw his shadow, thus giving us an additional six weeks of winter. Last year, Phil popped up and showed his shadow again which was what some people called “the final nail in the coffin” marking one of the harshest and longest winters in U.S. history. In many parts of the U.S. the 2014 winter dragged on well into March.

The annual Groundhog Day predictions have been in practice in American culture since 1887. Groundhog Day originated…
