The Honda Classic is just around the corner. Held next week at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, it boasts one of the strongest non-major fields on the PGA Tour calendar.

One player who will not be there though is hometown favorite and one of the largest draws in golf, Tiger Woods.

Woods, who withdrew midway through the first round at the Farmers Insurance Open, announced shortly after the WD that he was taking a leave from the game to fix the glaring issues in the his game that has seen him struggle as of late, including his chipping and putting. For years his chipping and putting were the strongest part of his game.

Housing Market Growth

The U.S. housing market continues to recover even with a slight dip in housing stars (i.e. new home construction). Due to a strengthening economy and gains in the job market, the housing market has been positively affected and continues to strengthen. 

However, in 2014 we saw an overall increase of 19% in housing start ups and as of January 2015 that number has fallen. “U.S. housing starts fell 2% in January from a month earlier to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.065 million,” the Commerce Department said Wednesday, February 18. The PGA Tour wraps up their West Coast Swing this week at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. That means that the Florida Swing is right around the corner, starting with the Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens next week.

While the Tour is still out in California, many local golfers are spending this week trying to qualify for their local PGA Tour event. In addition to the traditional Monday Qualifier that the PGA Tour offers every week for its events, the Honda Classic features three Pre-Qualifying events, allowing local golfers who may have not otherwise been able to a shot at getting into a PGA Tour event.

Street Painting Festival
Turning plain asphalt into a colorful, magical work of art brings the street festival to Downtown Lake Worth. The annual event, which is celebrating 21 years, Street Painting Festival 2015 is approaching on the signature weekend of February 21-22, and the art will last until the next raindrop washes the paint away.

South Florida Weather

You can almost continuously tip your sun hat by the ending of another flawless day in South Florida. Try something different and go stargazing!  Experience the natural beauty that is the South Florida night sky.  Stargazing is the simply the act of observing stars, moons, planets and other objects in the night sky.  Humans have been observing the stars for thousands of years.  All that is needed is a clear sky away from the bright lights of the city.  Aficionados bring charts, binoculars and telescopes to see distant stars and constellations. 

There are 88 constellations that can be seen from almost anywhere in the United States, but not all at once.  As the Earth makes its orbit, the placement of stars in the sky appears to move.
