Yes, the spas are closed, but don’t let that stop you from forming a relaxation station in your own home! Here are some ways to create an at-home spa day. It helps to have a beautiful spa-like bathroom like some of our Waterfront homes, but this can all be done in any home anywhere!
Set The Mood
Put on some calming music, dim the lights, and create the perfect spa setting by using a diffuser with lavender essential oil or lighting a few scented candles.
Make Your Own Spa Water
Create “spa water” by putting strawberries, mint, cucumber, or all three your chilled glass of water.
Tea Tree Steam Treatment
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil in a bowl of hot water, then hold your face over the bowl using a towel to trap the steam for a few minutes. Tea tree oil is a natural antibacterial, and will clean out your pores leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed!
Apply a Face Mask
A face mask will leave your skin feeling soft, and moisturized!
Here are a few face masks for different types of skin:
Dry Skin: Mix Avocado, Honey, & Rolled Oats. Avocado will moisturize, honey has anti-bacterial properties, and oats sooth redness.
Oily Skin: Mix honey and brown sugar. The honey gently absorbs oil without over-drying, and the brown sugar exfoliates.
Apply an Anti-Aging Hand Mask
Along with the skin on your face, the skin on the backs of your hands can also reveal significant signs of aging. Mixing together some honey, yogurt, & a few drops of coconut oil or olive oil and coating your hands with it for a few minutes will have your hands feeling softer and looking more youthful in no time.
Soak Your Feet
Who doesn’t like a long relaxing foot soak?? Epsom salt is the best ingredient here, and all you have to do is mix about a cup in with a big bowl of warm water, then slide your toes on in. Your feet will love you for it.
Paint Your Nails
If you really want to go the extra mile, paint your nails. The colors for spring 2020 include baby blue, mauve, off-white, ballerina pink, bright yellow, and even pistachio.
