Come explore and get gross! Visit the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium summer exhibition, Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body. Grossology is based on the best-selling book by science teacher Sylvia Branzei. Branzei explains the concept of Grossology as a learning tool. “This is science in disguise,” she says. “If we teach students in their own words, they’ll understand better and actually learn something.’ The objective is to educate children ages 6 to 14 and families about why their bodies produce mushy, oozy, crusty, scaly, stinky things. This exhibition uses state-of-the-art animatronics and creative exhibits to tell you the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more. Learning is accomplished through the use of interactive experiences and challenges.
The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is located at 4801 Dreher Trail North, West Palm Beach and is open Monday thru Friday from 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Admission to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium during Grossology is $15 for adults, $11 for children ages 3 to 12, $13 for seniors aged 60 and older. Science Center members and children under 3 are free. For more information visit SFSciencecenter.org.
