BEER GEEK WEEK at TEQUESTA BREWING CO.

Only 80 days until the Palm Beach Food and Wine Fest 2013. Local “foodies” are preparing their taste buds for the culinary delights.  If you happen to be a beer geek here is some “hoppy” news for you – Tequesta Brewing Co. (TBC) 287 U.S. Highway One, Tequesta, FL (561)745-5000, is celebrating Hop Week starting today! Once a year hops are harvested in the North West and sold throughout the year for beer manufacturing.

This means a week’s worth of freshly infused hops in TBC beer.  The difference is that these featured brews are not made with the usual processed hops, but with freshly harvested hops. Worth Avenue Named “Iconic Street”

Palm Beach’s oldest, and most famous shopping and dining area has been named to the national top 20 Iconic Streets list according to 10best.com.

A division of USA Today, the site is hosting “a contest to name the American street that best combines history and a strong sense of place while reflecting its unique location in the country”.

Worth Avenue on Palm Beach was designed and built in the early 1920s by architect Addison Mizner. He built Worth Avenue shortly after designing several buildings on the street’s western end, including the Everglades Club. The Mediterranean-style buildings with small enclaves of restaurants and shops became known around the world as “the Palm Beach look”.

Abacoa Green Market Returns Saturday

Starting this upcoming Saturday, the Abacoa Green Market will get started for its second season. Featuring new venders, children’s activities, and musical acts, the market will run on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm at the Abacoa Town Center.

Started last year by Abacoa resident Reggie Scurry, the market will feature vendors selling everything from nutritional supplements and locally grown produce, to wholesale seafood, baked goods, jewelry, and clothing.

PROPOSED 350 HOME COMMUNITY in JUPITER

Divosta Homes has proposed a 350 home community with office and retail space west of I-95 in Jupiter.  Lakewood Development, a proposed community on 260 acres along West Indiantown Road across from Jupiter Country Club, will comes before the Jupiter Town Council on August 8.

The proposal calls for a 150,000 square foot research facility, a 6,000 square foot restaurant, convenience store and 20-pump gas station. Original plans submitted to the Jupiter Town Council also reflected a 100-room hotel, but it is no longer in DiVosta Homes plan.
 
The parcel of land is one of the last large, undeveloped parcels in Jupiter. The Lakewood project, is now on what is referred to as Parcel 19, was purchased by Jupiter 19…

SAFE HARBOR ANIMAL SANCTUARY and HOSPITAL
