The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County is a private, non-profit corporation “that provides a diverse array of arts and culture related programs”.  The council was founded over 35 years ago through the vision and leadership of Alexander Dreyfoos.  Dreyfoos, a successful businessman, inventor, and arts activist believed in the value of arts and culture.

The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County is Palm Beach County’s officially designated agency for cultural development.  The Council is instrumental in supporting and celebrating the artistic and cultural community in one of Florida’s largest and most diverse counties.

Take the opportunity to explore local culture. Jupiter, ranked as one of Coastal Magazines “Happiest Seaside Towns” is rich with nautical history.  Visit a treasured landmark keeping watch over the coastline.  The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse was built in 1860 and still functions today. Tour the historical museum, climb to the top of the lighthouse and be astounded by the 360-degree vistas.

Palm Beach is immersed in culture, historic homes, galleries and museums.  American industrialist and founder of Standard Oil, Henry Flagler as a wedding gift for his wife built the Flagler Museum, known as “Whitehall”.   The late 19th century estate offers guided tours of a Gilded Age gone by and rotating exhibitions.  Be sure to walk through Flagler’s personal railcar and ask about the secret passageways!

Downtown Boynton Beach is displaying kinetic art sculptures that move through contact with wind, water or currents of air, during the International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium February 6 – 8, 2015.  More than 75 pieces will be featured outside and in selected venues along East Ocean Avenue, Boynton Beach.

Celebrate Chinese New Year (also Valentine’s Day), February 14, 2015 with the Chinese Cultural Association of South Florida at Boca Raton.  Anticipate spectacular dragon and lion dances, authentic Chinese foods, folk dances, martial arts and acrobatics.

One of a kind art will be showcased at the 29th Annual Outdoor Juried Art Festival presented by the Boca Museum of Art.  February 7 and 8, 2015, this complimentary admission event features sculptures, painting, jewelry, ceramics photography and so much more. Art festival runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm in Mizner Park, Boca Raton.
