The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) intends to utilize the power of people to fight ocean trash at Jupiter Beaches and other worldwide beaches and waterways. Marine debris is one of the greatest threats our ocean faces, but luckily it is an issue with which we can all play a part in the resolution.

For every mile of ocean, there are at least 46,000 pieces of plastic debris floating within said distance. Furthermore, plastic does not decompose over a long period and only disintegrates, minute plastic particles are already showing up in our food and water. If these trends continue, it won’t be long before we face disastrous outcomes for our environment.

Since its beginning, more than 17 million volunteers have collected more than 348 million…
