Father's Day 2025: Top Things to Do in Palm Beach County

Updated on

Father's Day is this Sunday! (June 15th, 2025) And if you're looking to celebrate the amazing Fathers in your life, Palm Beach County is still very much alive in the summertime. This obviously won’t be a complete, exhaustive list since no two dads are the same or enjoy the same activities, but broadly speaking, if you’re looking for Father’s Day activity ideas in the area, here you go.

  1. Golf (Too Obvious?)

    • While this is a cliche choice for a good number (maybe even the majority) of dads in the area, it's for good reason. Palm Beach County is one of the most renowned areas for golf in the entire world. In fact, it's one of the main reasons people move or retire here. Now, odds are, if your dad belongs to a local golf club, he’s already made plans for this weekend (maybe with you!) However, if he doesn't belong to a club, and is a more casual player, then you're still in luck! If you're not a golfer yourself, what you might not know is that Palm Beach County has some of the best public golf courses in Florida. We’ve actually put together an entire separate blog post about the Top 10 Public Golf Courses Near West Palm Beach. Check that out, and then look into booking a tee time at one of the courses your dad has been itching to try. Since summer is the off-season in South Florida, many of the courses that are hard to find a tee time at during peak season have fairly open tee sheets. On top of that, almost all of them have special off-season prices. That being said, Father’s Day is usually one of the most popular days for people to play golf, so try to act fast!
  2. An Outdoor Adventure at One of the Underrated Parks

    • Biking through Jonathan Dickinson State Park; wildlife watching on the trails of Green Cay Nature Center & Wetlands, the Wellington Environmental Preserve, or Grassy Waters Preserve; kayaking in Okeeheelee Park; paddleboarding around the Jupiter Lighthouse Natural Area;  Snorkeling at Phil Foster Park/Peanut Island. No matter the town or city you live in, Palm Beach County has outstanding parks. The key to enjoying them in the summer? Timing. There are a few windows every day: usually the best times to do anything outdoors is either from 8:00 am to 10:00 am or 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. These windows of opportunity are when the overall heat and humidity intersect on the way up and down. Humidity is highest in the mornings and evenings, and temperatures are highest around 1-4pm.
  3. Treat Him to a Waterfront Meal

    • We’ve written a few blog posts all about the waterfront dining options in Jupiter and Palm Beach County. With so much coastline, Intracoastal space, rivers, lakes, and canals, there are so many places to enjoy a meal with an outstanding view. For a special occasion, places like The River House, the Seafood Bar at The Breakers, or 1000 North are fantastic, but if your dad is more laidback, then Guanabanas, U-Tiki, Frigate’s, Sailfish Marina, Two Georges, or Benny’s on the Beach are great options.
  4. Fishing

    • Just like the dad who is a member at a golf club, if your dad has a boat, odds are he wants to spend Father’s Day on it. Not a ton of planning needed there on your part! However, if Dad loves fishing but doesn’t own a boat, then a great Father’s Day activity would be to take a chartered fishing trip! There are plenty of local captains who specialize in either inshore or offshore fishing. Just be extra mindful of the weather. If it’s stormy (like it can get a lot here in the summer) then the seas might be too rough for the charters to go out. If it’s bright and sunny, the UV index will be up near the extremes, so toss on that long-sleeved fishing shirt and big-brimmed hat.
  5. Tour the Flagler Museum

    • If your dad is a history buff or appreciates architecture, the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach is the place to be. This stunning Gilded Age mansion, once home to industrialist Henry Flagler, is now a museum offering a glimpse into the opulence of the early 20th century. It’s a great way to spend a relaxed afternoon exploring history and beautiful grounds. Plus, there are often special exhibits and events that will make this Father's Day even more exciting
  6. Enjoy a Day at the Beach

    • The sand will be hot, but hopefully the breeze and water will be cool. Bring extra water and your best umbrella/shade, and you should be fine. Our outstanding beaches are still popular in the summertime, since the coastal effect can make it feel 10-15 degrees cooler than even a couple of miles inland.
  7. Catch a Live Show or Concert

    • If your dad enjoys music, theater, or comedy, Palm Beach County has a number of venues offering live performances. The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach often features concerts, Broadway-style shows, and symphonies. Alternatively, check out many of the local bars and restaurants that have great live bands on weekends, if that’s more his speed. A fun night out at one of these venues could be a perfect end to Father’s Day.
  8. Beer Tour

    • For the dad who likes trying different kinds of beer, Palm Beach County is home to a growing craft beer scene. Take him on a brewery tour to sample some of the best local brews. Popular spots like Civil Society Brewing, Twisted Trunk Brewing, Stormhouse Brewery, Coastal Karma Brewing, and Mathews Brewing Company offer tours and tastings where you can learn about the brewing process, try new beers, and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere. It’s a fun and casual way to celebrate Father’s Day with a cold one in hand.
  9. Explore the Norton Museum of Art

    • For a dad who appreciates fine art, the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach offers an impressive collection of contemporary art, American art, European paintings, and more. The museum frequently hosts special exhibitions, interactive experiences, and cultural events that will make for a fantastic day out. You could even pair the visit with lunch or dinner at one of the nearby restaurants for a cultural and culinary experience.
  10. Relax with a Spa Day

    • Sometimes the best gift is simply just some relaxation. Treat your dad to a rejuvenating day at one of the local resort spas. The Breakers, PGA National, Eau, Marriott Singer Island, and more all have offers for non-resort guests, and some of these places are ranked as among the best in the world.  Dads are notorious for just trudging through pain or living with knots in their muscles, so a massage is a great way to help care for the person who’d never go out of their way to ask for it or sign up for a massage themself.

As Long As You Make an Effort

No matter what your dad enjoys, Palm Beach County has plenty to do. Some of these things require forethought and planning ahead (like golf tee times, or reservations at popular restaurants), but some don’t (spontaneous hike/bike/walk on a nature trail). No matter what you end up doing, Dad will likely just be happy to spend time with you and will appreciate that you made an effort to plan something for him. Make this Father’s Day one to remember. There’s something for every type of dad to enjoy.
