FISHING REPORT for SOUTH FLORIDA 4.24.15

There will be nice weather in the forecast just in time for the weekend. Get excited to take a trip offshore this weekend as those that put in time and cover some water will have the best luck!
OFFSHORE- “The best action offshore right now is (for the most part) inside of 200' of water from Palm Beach to Jupiter Inlet. The kingfish showed up in big numbers this week (as did the commercial fishing fleet) off of Jupiter Inlet. Drifting live sardines and threadfin herring is the ticket for catching the kings right now, but in a pinch or as a backup a dead sardine on a knocker rig will usually get the job done.” As you are drifting offshore, there could be some late season sail fish and potential to hook up on blackfin tuna. Mutton snappers and cobia may join the party on the boat too!Summertime bonita are showing up and filling back up the waters in good numbers!
INSHORE- Once again, Snook fishing has highlighted most of the inshore fishing for Jupiter, Juno Beach, and North Palm Beach. The springtime mullet have the snooks fired up and craving for more as they swim towards the inlets and creep under the bridges at night. The inshore snappers are getting a little better with some reports catching lane and mangrove snappers.
SURF- Pompano bite has been strong this week, especially in the morning and late in the afternoons. Live shrimp, fishbites, clams and sandfelas are all great baits to increase your odds of hooking them up! There are lots of jack crevalles cruising the beaches and they are pretty fun to target on a big topwater plug. The Jupiter inlet is so crowded with snook, jacks and snapper hanging around the rocks.
Enjoy your weekend fishing!
