The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their first ever Hike20 this January. Hike20 will set foot on the ocean to lake hiking trail section of the Florida Trail.

Those who participate will join Hiking Trail Experts from the Florida Trail Association and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center Staff on a 3-day, 2-night excursion.

During the journey, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff Biologist and the Loxahatchee Chapter will guide guests through some of the most iconic ecosystems in South Florida.

The 3-day, 2-night excursion is Friday, January 24th through Sunday, January 26th. Those who wish to participate must register in advance and will meet at the Everglades Youth Conservation Camp before boarding onto a shuttle to the trailheads to begin the journey.

The hike will support the marine conservation and education outreach to non-coastal schools across South Florida. The hike also aims to support and promote environmental stewardship of Florida’s fresh and saltwater systems.

Due to space, Hike20 will only be able to accommodate no more than 60 hikers on the journey. Virtual Hikers, registration is unlimited. Registration is $125 dollars for full event hikers and $65 dollars for virtual day hikers. Participants that wish to attend the 3-day, 2-night journey must be at least 18 years old or older.
