The Wildlife Foundation of Florida encourages everyone to purchase a fishing license, one of the most effective ways to invest in Florida's future. The $17 fee for a fishing license is really an investment that keeps fishing alive and well in Florida. The fee goes directly to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), which is required by law to use those dollars strictly for fishing programs.

There is a New TrophyCatch website called “I Do” Campaign. Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) staff was at the world largest tackle trade show, ICAST, when it came to Florida, the “Fishing Capital of the World” in July. ICAST attracted 11,000 plus attendees, all of whom were professionals involved with recreational fishing. Fishing in Florida generates over $8 billion and 80,000 jobs. They highlighted the importance of recreational fishing in Florida while showcasing programs that benefit Florida angler and resources. Among these was the “I Do” Campaign. “Let’s buy a license as an investment in the outdoors we cherish,” said Karl Wickstrom, founder and editor in chief of Florida Sportsman.

You don't even have to fish to benefit from purchasing a Florida fishing license and to invest in Florida future. The revenue collected from fishing licenses is used to improve and enhance fishing and boating opportunities throughout the state in salt and fresh waters. Things like public marinas, boat ramps, fishing clinics, and artificial reefs are the types of programs funded with your fishing license.
