Ultimate Guide to Jupiter's Love Street Restaurants, Activities and Shops
Still relatively new, Jupiter's Love Street has quickly become one of the favorite spots for tourists and locals alike. It's where families can enjoy a day, and partiers can spend a night. It's where you bring friends and family when they're visiting and you want to show them the ultimate waterfront Jupiter lifestyle. What more could you want than great drinks and dining, an outstanding view of the Loxahatchee River, Jupiter Inlet, and the lighthouse, and things to do for the whole family?
Restaurants and Bars of Love Street
Square Grouper Tiki Bar
If you're over 21 and looking for a tropical escape with live music every day of the week, then this is your place. Square Grouper is famous for a couple of reasons, but primarily because everyone who visits goes home and tells everyone how much fun they had there. The other reason it's famous is, of course, because Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet's music video for "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" was filmed on-site, as well as the video for another Alan Jackson hit, "Long Way to Go". The bar has no waitstaff, but has excellent food that is served up at the counter and can be taken to tables. If you like fish, try the blackened Mahi sandwich or tacos. This place is popular at all times of day, but it really gets going when the crowds from the surrounding restaurants finish dinner and flow in.
Lucky Shuck
Oysters and beer, every day of the year, and you'll be fine. Right next to Square Grouper, Lucky Shuck is more subdued, but also more organized. If you're looking to sit down and peruse a large menu where you can't go wrong, then this is an outstanding place. There's a large indoor bar that horseshoes around the center of the restaurant, a separate raw bar, plenty of tables, and a great brewery-esque atmosphere. Outdoor seating is also available on three sides of the restaurant, and fans of alfresco will love the views.
Beacon
Part of the same family of restaurants as Lucky Shuck (Charlie and Joe's at Love Street) Beacon is aptly named, as it stares straight across the Loxahatchee River at the Jupiter Lighthouse. Beacon is probably the most upscale and sophisticated of the Love Street restaurants, and the prices reflect that. But that doesn't mean that the food and drinks aren't amazing, because they are. Margarita and Bourbon flights are available for those looking to try something new, and the wine list has been very carefully crafted. For dinner, you can find all of the upscale staples, from sushi to filet mignon, and even chicken buerre blanc.
Topside
The third staple of Charlie and Joe's, Topside is unique in many ways, but mostly in its elevated view. Just above 'Beacon", Topside has a Miami-esque lounge feel to it, with greenery and photogenic seating. Topside is a popular place to host an event: networking happy hours, after-parties, welcome parties, etc. and there are multiple packages available depending on how many people you have. The similarities to Miami continue with frequent live DJs and bottle service packages. Depending on the season, Topside has rotating events and happenings and often has a Ladies' Night on Friday with complimentary drinks from 9:00 - 10:00 pm.
Restaurants Near Love Street
These next few are all just a short walk from Love Street, but not technically on Love Street.
Jetty's
Similar in ways to "Beacon", Jetty's offers a superb menu that has something for everyone. There are tons of seafood options, plus steak, chicken, pork, and even ribs. If you're into specialty cocktails and martinis, then you might just be tempted to try all of Jetty's at one point or another. The atmosphere is simple, yet beautiful, and of course, being on the water with that lighthouse view is always good.
U-Tiki Beach
U-Tiki is sort of like a more mellow, family-friendly version of Square Grouper. It's big, with plenty of waitstaff, and serves up delicious appetizers, fish tacos, sandwiches/rolls, flatbreads, bowls, sushi, and salads. It's popular with families due to the perfectly simple kids' menu, and the short but sweet beer/wine/cocktail menu. During peak-season there can often be a long wait, but there's also a little bar-boat that you can cruise the river on for a few minutes. It's one of the best ways to kill time, and even worth doing if there's no wait time for a table at all.
Schooner's
Schooner's is the only restaurant in this area not on the water, but it makes up for the lack of a view with good food, good live music, and a loyal customer base. Schooner's has daily specials that are constantly being crafted, updated, changed, or altered in some way, so in addition to having one of the best menus in town, there's always something new to try or to keep you on your toes.
Guanabanas
Just on the other side of A1A, Guanabanas is arguably the most popular tourist spot in the area, but that doesn't mean that it isn't enjoyed by locals, too. Its dockside chairs are the best place to watch the sunset with a drink in your hand, and it's one of the only places around that hosts up-and-coming recording artists from out-of-town who bring the beachy tunes. The atmosphere is extremely photogenic, with tall palm trees, a fountain courtyard, secluded dining sections under tiki huts, and lots of Adirondack chairs to relax in while waiting for a table. It's a good spot for weekend brunch or lunch, dinner any day of the week, and usually fun for some after-dinner drinks.
