MORE WINTER TIME ON THE WATER in SOUTH FLORIDA

winter boating
This beautiful South Florida winter was a tad bit warmer than it usually is and motor boaters didn’t let the occasion drift on by. Not only because of the vast amount of sunshine, the great fishing, or the calming seas but because the gas prices are at a low! For boaters, the rate of engine friendly non-ethanol gas has reduced!

“According to Waterwayguide.com reports, prices for non-ethanol gas at Florida east coast marinas either stayed the same or dipped. The average drop was .35 cents per gallon from January 12-23 alone. The lowest price, $3.20 per gallon, was found at city-owned Hollywood Marina.” Boaters in South Florida are fond of those numbers! The true boaters don’t let a buck in the price of fuel influence them from a gorgeous day with friends and family on the clear waters, with a warm breeze on your side and blue skies above, boating is worth every dollar to South Floridians!

“Ted Drum, president of the sprawling Lauderdale Marina complex in Fort Lauderdale, said boaters from low-end end to high are “going out” in droves. Indeed, on a recent Monday the fuel dock outside 15th Street Fisheries restaurant saw a stream of ocean vehicles from jet skis to multi-million dollar yachts.”

If you are fortunate enough to be in South Florida during the winter months, you be able to see everything from boat parades and seawall fishing displays to friendly manatee sightings and sail fishing tournaments.

South Florida is a boaters dream during the winter months! So, get out and spend more time on the water!
