When you think of Palm Beach County you might think of lavish real estate, blue water, warm weather and tropical cuisine and all of those things are very Palm Beach! But another big thing in this area is an appreciation for gardens and creating a tropical oasis.

To try something new, you will want to try a class at the Mounts Botanical Garden. You can refine your gardening skills, or learn a new hobby of soothing gardening that is good for the soul.

This month at Mounts: Last full weekend in April: “The Plant Sales at Mounts have become increasingly popular each year attracting more than 5,000 homeowners looking to beautify and add appeal and value to their home and garden. Gardeners are always looking to add more color and unusual plants to their landscapes.”

Mounts Botanical Garden is a haven of rare and beautiful plants, exotic flowers and even local wildlife. Mounts is found in West Palm Beach, Florida. There are over 18 unique gardens here at Mounts Botanical Gardens all with their own theme and habitat. Some of the gardens you will see when you visit Mounts include the butterfly garden, the orchid garden and so much more.

Mounts has a history dating back to the 50’s when it was the “first Palm Beach Cooperative Extension building erected on Military Trail and officially named to honor Marvin U. “Red” Mounts.” The original 3-½ acres owned by the cooperative was used to pasture 4-H horses. Mounts Botanical Garden's mission is to spark the creative nature of those who love the plants of the subtropical culture. Mounts “exhibits and evaluates materials environmentally suitable for home, commercial and public landscapes while providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn the art, science and joy of gardening.”
