NEW SQUARE GROUPER TIKI BAR in FORT PIERCE
For more than a decade, Square Grouper Tiki Bar, at 1111 Love Street on the Jupiter Inlet, has been known to be one of the most popular watering holes in South Florida. “It is the home of Alan Jackson’s, “Its 5 O’clock Somewhere” video with Jimmy Buffet, the Grand Slam/Castaways KDW, and Jupiter Billfish Fishing Tournaments.” Fundraising events happen frequently, I will always remember the sight and spectacle of soggy dogs enjoying a swim in the inlet during an animal fundraising happening. There is always something fun going on at The Square Grouper.
Jim Burg, the owner and manager of The Square Grouper, is looking to create another slice of paradise on the water off the south side of Fort Pierce Inlet, 1920 Seaway Drive in Saint Lucie County. He plans on closing in a couple weeks on the 1.1 acre property. "It's a very exciting area. And the City of Fort Pierce has done a wonderful job, with new roads and refurbishing of the area," Burg said. “I haven't decided exactly what to call the new place – but it will probably be Square Grouper Tiki Bar Fort Pierce Inlet and the first one will be Square Grouper Tiki Bar Jupiter Inlet," Burg said. "I think that is kind of cool to have two fabulous tropical locations with an authentic Old Florida feel to them on two separate inlets."
The Square Grouper is such a treasure to most South Floridian locals and many out of Towner’s are drawn to it as well. It is such a hometown place to listen to live music, relax under the palm trees with your toes in the sand and sip on your favorite beverage or munch on some pub grub. Experience the awe-inspiring views of the Inlets, as boats cruise by to make their way to and from the Atlantic Ocean. The Castaway dock is surrounded by many fish and boat slips which hold many fish such as, monster snook, catfish, jacks, crabs and other fun sea creatures you are able to see at night, under the LED dock lights.
Soon, there will be another Florida beach bar in Fort Pierce that will serve up a fun tropical vibe as well as the laid back good ole' time visitors and locals have at the Jupiter location!
