Buckingham Palace welcomed a new addition with the birth of George Alexander Louis, Prince of Cambridge. The third in line to the British throne will never have to worry about the current real estate market.
Baby George will live in the preeminent house in London. Buckingham Palace is the official London residence and principal residence of the British monarch. In the beginning, the original large townhome was built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1705. Subsequently, three wings were added and during the 19th century and the townhouse was enlarged. The renovation was then intended as a private retreat for Queen Charlotte, known as “The Queens House” - 14 of 15 of their children were born there.
Over the years, between monarchs and wars, remodeling of the structure grew to an astonishing 830,000 square feet! Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. With no uncertainty, the future king will be comfortable in the Palace.
We are informed by our affiliate office in London, Mayfair International Realty that it “was 120 years since the reigning monarch had met the future king three generations ahead. That last happened in 1894, when Queen Victoria was introduced to the baby who would become Edward VIII.”
The world celebrated the birth of the Prince of Cambridge, and we here at Waterfront Properties and Club Communities in Jupiter, who have an affiliate office in London, are delighted to raise a toast to this historic event.
Cheers!
