Experience the spirit of Oktoberfest the second and third weekends of October. Join the American German Club of the Palm Beaches located at 5111 Lantana Road, Lake Worth for authentic of bratwurst, schnitzel, leberkase, strudels, and so much more. Allow your palate to sip imported and domestic beers, wines, schnapps, and liquors while enjoying authentic Oktoberfest bands straight from Germany.
This annual Bavarian “celebration of beer and good times” will be held on ten acres under the pavilion. The American German Club of the Palm Beaches celebrates one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the country! They offer a carnival area on the grounds behind the pavilion with new rides for young and young-at-heart. Wristbands for the kids are available for unlimited rides for $20, at the ticket booth in the carnival area, for single day use only.
How did this Oktoberfest come to be? Oktoberfest started in October 1810, when Crown Prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, invited the citizens of Munich to celebrate his wedding. Horse races marked the close of the festivities and it was repeated the following year. The first carousel arrived in 1818. Beer tents started popping up and more carnival rides, tents turned to halls, and the rest is history.
