From the southernmost city in Palm Beach County, Boca Raton, to the Village of Tequesta, at the northern most cities in the county, affordability in the area has increased.  Palm Beach County reaches from the sparkling Atlantic Ocean coastline west to the wild Everglades.  Since reporting solid gains in the first quarter of 2015 home prices have remained stable and mortgage rates have fallen to an all-time low in the fourth quarter.

According to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index, affordability varies greatly by geographical location.  The Index compares home prices to incomes of the median –income family. Data indicates, “In Miami, only 43% of the homes are affordable to a family median income family.   In San Francisco, a slight 10% are affordable.  63% of the homes in Broward County are affordable and 67% of the homes on the Treasure Coast are slightly more affordable than the homes in Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach County offers everything from beautiful beaches to excellent arts and culture. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse was constructed in 1860. The lighthouse stands as evidence to the abundant nautical history of Palm Beach County.” Whitehall” located in Palm Beach was Henry Morrison Flagler’s outstanding Gilded Age estate. The home, now a museum built by the founding father of the Palm Beach, offers guided tours, changing exhibitions and the Flagler’s private railcar. Palm Beach Opera brings the magnificence of live opera to the area.  Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is one of the premier performance centers in the South. The Kravis Center presents “a diverse schedule of national and international performances, as well as important regional organizations, including the Miami City Ballet and Palm Beach Opera”.

Palm Beach County beaches have lifeguards to protect swimmers at thirteen oceanfront and inlet parks from Tequesta to Boca Raton. Swimming areas are guarded year-round, seven days a week. Designated beaches are dog friendly and unguarded beaches are sprinkled throughout Palm Beach County.
