Palm Beach County “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”
The holidays are a delightful time with lots of celebrations. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is partnering with Palm Beach County Law Enforcementto share the message and remind the public about the dangers of drunk driving.
This New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019, law enforcement will participate in the high-visibility national enforcement campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”. During this time, local law enforcement will show zero tolerance for drunk driving. Increased state and national messages about the dangers of driving impaired, coupled with enforcement and increased officers on the road, aim to drastically reduce drunk driving on our Palm Beach County roadways.
Alcohol consumption impairs your driving skills and lowers inhibitions, which can cause you to make bad decisions you would not otherwise make. Do not trust yourself when you drink. Law Enforcement will be on high alert and out in full force with the intention to keep us all safe. They won’t let you phone a friend, or call you an Uber, they will take you directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.
Make the intelligent decision if you opt to drink:
- Have a designated driver
- Call a car service
- Use public transportation
- AAA will be offering free towing and drop off until 6:00 am
- Drink in moderation
