The Jupiter Town Council, Mayor of Tequesta, head of North County Real Estate Board, amongst others are conducting an important public meeting on Thursday, April 17 at 6pm.  The assembly will be held at the Jupiter Community Center, 210 Military Trail Boulevard in Jupiter.

On the agenda will be ample discussion regarding All Aboard Florida (high-speed rail service), Florida East Coast Railway (F.E.C.) and the impact on property values, traffic, safety and boating. All Aboard Florida is proposing 32 passenger trains will run between Miami and Orlando airports, with two stops only in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

Some important facts to consider:

-    Currently their 16 freight trains passing through our area daily.

-    All Aboard Florida proposes to bring an additional 32 passenger trains each day.

-    Trains will travel at 75 mph south of Jupiter and 110+ mph north of Jupiter.

Questions asked by many:

-    How will the noise affect residents living near the F.E.C railroad tracks?

-    Can the existing old railway bridges (Jupiter and Stuart river crossings) support that much activity?

-    How congested will traffic become? What about emergency response vehicles?  How will the trains affect response times and access to hospital emergency rooms.

-    What will happen to business and home values?

-    Why not use the existing railroad tracks west of town?

Take an opportunity to join the conversation, become informed, and make an informed decision. For more information visit www.allaboardflorida.com or visit www.change.org for a petition to stop All Aboard Florida from using F.E.C. tracks.
