PULL the TRIGGER! Try Something Different in South Florida than just the Beaches and Waterways
Perhaps in South Florida the weather is a bit cool, say 70 degrees, obviously much too cool on a winter day to hit the beach or the waterways. It would be a great opportunity to try something a little different. Pull the trigger and consider a shotgun sport at one of the many sporting clubs in the area.
The National Sporting Federation defines sporting clays as “a challenging clay target game designed to simulate a variety of field shooting situations. On sporting clays course shooters are presented with a wide variety of targets that duplicate the flight path of birds, such as flushing, crossing, incoming and other angling shots.”
South Florida Shooting Club is one of the best shooting clubs in South Florida. Only a forty-five minute drive from the Jupiter area, the club features “8 trap fields under stadium lights, 3 fully automated sporting clay courses, 2 skeet fields, 5-stand, FITASC parcours (professional level) and a fully automated ZZ ring.” The club offers various levels of membership for all skill levels and is designed to suit your exact requirements.
The sport of skeet shooting is fragmented into three capacities: clay pigeon shooting, trapshooting and sporting clays. The sport of sporting clays dates back to the early 1900’s when British Shooting Schools began using clay targets as practice. They used the sporting clays as a way to simulate the action of bird hunting. The schools replicated the trajectory, speed, angles and distances. Today most clubs use biodegradable clays as targets.
Many clubs offer luxurious clubhouses and casual outdoor areas just to take in the peaceful views. Try something new and pull the trigger!
