There are three legs to the sailfish series beginning at the historic Sailfish Marina on Singer Island and spanning to Key Largo, Florida. Leg one, named “Operation Sailfish” will be held on December 12-16. Leg 2, The Sailfish Challenge, boasts its status as the largest sailfish tournament in the country. Held on February 7-10, the Sailfish Challenge, encompasses a 3-inlet format, and uses the IGFA Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale as home base for the tournament. As the sailfish push south, the final leg of the tournament is the Jimmy Johnson National Billfish Championship. This iconic billfishing tournament will host some of the best billfishing teams on the planet. Teams will compete in the three leg series for an anticipated purse of more than $1,000,000 dollars. However, the most coveted prize will not be in the form of cash. The team accumulating the highest number of points at the end of the series will claim the Crest.
