Water and wind are the distinctive aspects at Sailfish Point. This private course, originally designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1981, is surrounded by three bodies of water. Golfers must hit the third shot over the water to the green with the St. Lucie Inlet directly behind the green, he says. The unique features of the challenging coastal course still attracted Jack Nicklaus, who returned in 2007 to remodel the Sailfish Point course. The revamped course was rewarded with a top ten spot on Golf Digest’s “Best Remodel” list in 2009.
