The famous Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum will be suffused with bright colorful pink and then purple lights for the month of October. To increase awareness of two separate causes, Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence against Women, there will be different colors ignited on the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum that represent each origin.

Every year in October the nation promotes Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a movement to escalade the awareness of the disease. Although most of the nation’s society is aware of breast cancer and the importance of this cause, various people seem to overlook to take the important strides. As research still has an extensive way to go, scientists need our help! The Jupiter Lighthouse will be glowing in bright pink lighting and this may help prompt the community to donate to the cause, make an early detection plan, as well as welcoming others or maybe host a campaign to help arrange financials for women in need.

Domestic Violence Awareness month grew from the first day of harmony in October, 1981. The determination was to bond maltreated women’s supporters across the states who were working to end violence against women and their young kids. By the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse shining the color purple, the efforts will have people distinguish and stimulate the involvement of the whole community in building social intolerance towards domestic violence, raise survivors admittance to support organizations, and promote foster programming.

There will be a public event on October 9th at 8:00 pm at the lighthouse, 500 Captain Armour’s Way in Jupiter, Florida. For more information visit: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum or call 561-747-8380.
