Sloan’s Ice Cream, Palm Beach Gardens is going to the Middle East
Sloan’s Ice Cream, Palm Beach Gardens, is a unique ice cream and sweets shoppe. The first location of Sloan’s was in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1999. Their goal was “to create an ice cream utopia for the young and young at heart.” They have succeeded with locations in South Florida, California and most recently in Kuwait.
Ice cream has been around for many, many years. Ice cream's origins are known to range back to the second century B.C. No exact date of origin, or inventor, has been credited with its innovation. It is known that Alexander the Great enjoyed snow and ice flavored with honey and nectar. Theological references show that King Solomon was fond of iced drinks during reaping. It is understood that during the Roman Empire, Caesar, frequently sent runners up the mountains for snow. The snow was then flavored with fruits and juices. Over a thousand years later, Marco Polo returned to Italy from the Far East with a recipe that closely resembled what is now called sherbet. Historians estimate that this recipe evolved into ice cream sometime in the 16th century.
Ice cream today is a soft frozen food made with sweetened and flavored milk fat. A serving of sweet course, typically in a bowl or a wafer cone or on a stick. People of all ages enjoy ice cream. The vividly painted pink ice cream shoppes at all Sloan’s locations are filled with heavenly aromas of fresh baked cookies, brownies and waffle cones. An entire wall is bursting with toys, bulk candy and chocolates. Be sure to visit the “magical glass bathroom door”.
The unrest in the Middle East does not put a damper on an ice cream craving. It is hot there in the desert. With crashing oil prices and some terrorism in the mix, Sloan’s Ice Cream will bring pure, sweet, culinary joy to the Middle East. If you are in the area, stop in for a scoop at the newest location located at The Promenade Mall, Corner of Third Ring Road and Tunis Street, Floor M2, Hawally, Kuwait.
