This Saturday and Sunday (March 14 and 15) is the 55th Annual Speckled Perch Festival and Car Show in Downtown Flagler Park.

This is a great event for the whole family. There will be food, rows of classic and modern cars, and plenty of local vendors. All in honor of one of South Florida’s favorite, delicious sportfish: the Speckled Perch. There are plenty of lakes where you can catch the freshwater Speckled Perch, including Lake Okeechobee, Lake Marian, and others.

Among others, popular local musician Johnny Debt will be playing his eclectic mix of music at the event.

About the Speckled Perch

Next to largemouth bass, Speckled Perch (Specks), also known as Black Crappie, are Florida’s second most sought after freshwater game fish. With northern lakes frozen during this time of year, legions of Crappie fishermen make their annual pilgrimage to central Florida lakes for these feisty yet tasteful panfish.

When: Sat, Mar 14 – Sun, Mar 15 from 10:00 am ‑ 3:00 pm

Where: Flagler Park - 55 SE 3rd Ave, Okeechobee, FL
