On Tuesday, a report came out from Eamon Lynch at GolfWeek that the PGA Tour is creating a new program designed at rewarding those players that constantly "move the needle" with an additional bonus payout at the end of the season. The Player Impact Program, as it's being called, is designed to pay out an end-of-the-year bonus to the players finishing in the top 10 based on a variety of requirements. The pool that those 10 golfers will be splitting is $40 million.
The 10 golfers will be determined based on their “Impact Score,” which will be determined based on an algorithm the Tour has created that comprises of 5 categories. The 5 categories are:
- Popularity on Google search
- Nielsen Brand Exposure rating, which measures the value a player
