Everyone knows that jogging is good for your cardiovascular system and that it helps you lose weight, but here are a few lesser-known health benefits that you may never have heard of.

Jogging May Help Fight Cancer

With the warmer weather fast approaching, getting out on a boat is one of South Florida’s favorite activities. Since 2010, the State of Florida has required that any person who wishes to operate a vessel of 10 horsepower or more and is born after January 1st, 1988, must pass and complete a Boating Safety Course.

Florida does not have a “boating license” but a Boating Safety Education Identification Card. The card is proof of a successful completion of the course and a pass on the exam.  The Identification Card is valid for life and no renewal fees or continuing education course is required once the course is completed and the exam is passed. However, you are asked to continue to review and follow the current boating rules and regulations.

Located between Hobe Sound and Tequesta is the Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The State Park is home to 16 distinct natural communities that make up the park.

The 10,500-acre park was named after Jonathan Dickinson, a Quaker merchant who became shipwrecked off the coast nearby in 1696.  The grounds in World War II were used as a secret training school and camp called Camp Murphy with over 6,600 men. Following the war the land became now known as Jonathan Dickinson State Park in 1950.

Today the State Park is used for many outdoor activities and events.  Throughout the park visitors can enjoy several boat tours, bike trails, hiking trails, boat ramps, canoeing, kayaks, camping, fishing, equestrian trails, swimming, picnics, cabin rentals, geo-seeing
