STREET PAINTING FESTIVAL in LAKE WORTH

Turning plain asphalt into a colorful, magical work of art brings the street festival to Downtown Lake Worth. The annual event, which is celebrating 21 years, Street Painting Festival 2015 is approaching on the signature weekend of February 21-22, and the art will last until the next raindrop washes the paint away.
Street Painting Festival involves more than 600 artists chalking up the roads and creating an inspirational canvas and beyond imaginary view of a temporary art museum. For two days, more than 100,000 art lovers will crowd and admire the creations on the pavement exposing the talents of true beauty.
“Traced back to 16th century Italy when itinerant artists would use their chalks to transform pavement into a makeshift canvas, street painting has retained its appeal through the centuries. As in ages past, crowds still gather to watch as fine works of art emerge. The “paintings” last only until the next rain, but the lively spirit and accessibility of the exhibition captivates new audiences each year and inspires lasting memories.”
Downtown Lake Worth titles to be the largest street painting festival in the country and includes food and live music to enjoy with the mixed talents. Are you an artist or do you think you can paint on the street canvas? Participation and admission is free, so all you need to bring is enthusiasm!
Admire the art coming alive in the temporary outdoor museum!
