You can fish in the Loxahatchee River. The Loxahatchee River in Jupiter is a wide body of water named from the Native American Seminole word for “river of turtles”. The most popular species caught on the Loxahatchee Riverfront are Snook, Crevalle jack, and Mangrove snapper. Hook and line are the only permissible forms of fishing.

The Loxahatchee River is a 7.6-mile river near the southeast coast of Florida. It is a National Wild and Scenic River, one of only two in the state, and received its federal designation on May 17, 1985. The Loxahatchee River flows out of the Jupiter Inlet and into the Atlantic Ocean.

Stuart was named to the 2021 "Best Winter Fishing Destinations" nationwide, according to FishingBooker.com the world's largest online travel fishing company.  FishingBooker touted Stuart's sailfish fishing reputation, saying people from all over the country should flock to the city during the winter season to test their fishing skills.

The reason the City of Stuart is unique to other places on the Atlantic coast is that the Gulf Stream is very close to shore.  It can be reached within 10 miles. For anglers, that means that you have a chance of reeling in a Sailfish on a four- or five-hour fishing trip! In addition to Sailfish, you can also pursue Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Redfish, Kingfish, and Barracuda during the winter months.

Stuart has other…

If you have a competitive streak and are looking for the biggest snook in the Jupiter area, summer is a great time to hook it. Snook has long been regarded as one of the top eating fish in South Florida. Snook meat is white with a medium firmness, not as delicate as trout but not as dense as swordfish. Snook is also one of Florida's most regulated fish. Season is closed six months of the year.

Summer’s choppy waters have more hungry snook available for the catch.  While fishing for snook in Jupiter Inlet, keep an eye out for lighted areas on the waterway. This is where you will find them feeding on minnows and shrimp after the sun sets.  It is still possible to get lucky with snook during the winter season as well.

Jupiter Inlet fishing offers…
