Coming to our seaside town of Jupiter, Florida will be two pieces of prized American History for you to see up close and personal. The Columbus Foundation will be harboring two replica ships, the Nina and the Pinta for locals to tour. 

The Columbus Foundation’s original ship, the Nina, is the most historically accurate replica of a Columbus Ship ever built. The recently built Pinta is now one of the other most historically accurate ships in the world as well. According to the Columbus Foundation, “both The Nina and Pinta will be touring together as a new and enhanced 'sailing museum', for educating the public and school children. Embrace your inner Zen with relaxing yoga, breathtaking views of a Floridian sunset and the sounds of the ocean. The beloved yoga and salt room of Jupiter, Breathe Salt Yoga, will be hosting its very first sunset yoga class this Thursday evening at DuBois Park. 

The class will gather at the northwest point, also known as “Coconut Point”, of the park. All that Breathe Salt Yoga asks you to bring is your mat and water bottle and a smile! 50% of proceeds from this class will support the historical Dubois House and its preservation. DuBois Park is an extremely extraordinary place and locals are devoted to preserving and caring for it. It is the perfect place to reconnect with your body, mind and nature.

Coming to Carlin Park in Jupiter, March 4th and 5th, is the beloved Jupiter Seafood Festival. The festival offers guests 2 days of delicious, local seafood, cold drinks, live music and fun for people of all ages. 

You can walk along the rows of vendors with your family and friends to see a variety of nautical vendors selling their crafts as the sounds of live music fill the air. There will be seven different bands to play over the weekend and hundreds of food, beer, drink and craft vendors to peruse. Depending on the tide and weather the tours take place at different locations and times of day. This Saturday, December 3rd in the evening is a two-hour kayak and paddleboard tour at the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve. The tour begins before dusk so you can cruise leisurely through the Intracoastal Waterway as the sunsets and the stars come out. 

On this unique tour of Jupiter’s waterways you will get an upclose look at the Jupiter Lighthouse, mangrove islands, estuaries, and the inlet. You will see an abundance of native wildlife like gentle manatees, turtles, fish, pelicans and sometimes even a dolphin. As the night falls, you will get to stargaze with your naked eye and see all that the Jupiter night sky has to offer.

The Jupiter Lighthouse Museum is offering a program called “Hike Through History.” This fun and educational program allows guests to discover the topography and natural history of Jupiter’s national conservation land and historical sites.  

You will hike 2 miles across the 120 acre Jupiter Lighthouse natural area that is full of beautiful landscape and wildlife. An educated guide will explain different species of animals and plants as well as the history and topography of the land. The hike begins at the flagpole beneath the lighthouse and ventures throughout the natural area. You will be able to overlook the serene Intracoastal Waters, hike up hills and through the wooded areas. 

The next Hike Through History will take place December 3 at 8:30am

This is your chance to have fun and help our local environment. Help spread the message in Jupiter that “PLASTIC AND MARINELIFE DON’T MIX!” by joining the Jellyfish Project Workshop. 

Together with other locals you can help make 500 jellyfish art pieces made from ocean plastic that has been collected from our beaches to help clean up our oceans. You and the group of volunteers will be hand assembling these beautiful pieces of art by fashioning the old polluted plastic into a work of art. 

“Plastic is a threat to marine and coastal wildlife through ingestion and entanglement. It photo degrades into micro plastic and enters the marine food chain. It never goes away completely. Jellyfish Project is a chance to bring awareness to this important issue
