Jupiter Sandbar

The Jupiter/Tequesta Sandbar is Located on the Loxahatchee River, near the Jupiter Inlet and the Intracoastal waterways. Kayaking and canoeing are great outdoor activities that you and your family can do while safely social distancing this Summer. The St. Lucie Inlet Preserve offers a scenic route for you to paddle down while experiencing interesting South Florida plants and wildlife.

There’s a scenic kayak trail through mangroves teeming with fish and birds. The kayak trail is on the undeveloped, wild northern end of Jupiter Island. And from the kayak trail, you can find a narrow path to a spectacular beach where we walked for miles on a sunny Saturday and saw only two other people. This is my definition of a hidden paradise.

St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park is located about a half-hour north of West Palm Beach. It’s the northern tip of a barrier island,…

And while, for some, that might mean sorting out their wardrobe or starting a new creative project, for others, the lockdown has presented the perfect opportunity to brush up on their gardening skills.

What tools do you need to grow plants from seeds?

You don’t really need any tools if you’re just sowing right at the beginning, because even when it comes to needing to pot them and put them into their right places, you can make do with a spoon if you don’t have a trowel.

According to Stylist Magazine, what you do need is something to sow into. You can make a lot of this from home – you can use…

Glamping is where nature meets luxury. If you’ve never heard the term before glamping, it simply means “glamourous camping.”

Glamping—or, for that matter, just good ole’ fashioned camping—is something you can safely do while practicing social distancing.

The people like to travel has changed. We no longer want a generic, one-size-fits-all vacation. All-inclusive resorts are out, authentic real-life experiences are in. Here are a few great places to go glamping in the Palm Beaches.

Headwaters

In our own backyard is the Headwaters Eco Retreat. Using old shipping containers on the banks of the Loxahatchee River, in Jupiter they have built a unique glamping destination. The main lodge at the Headwaters Eco Retreat is comprised of three…

If you are looking socially isolated, peaceful place to hike, try the Pine Glades Natural Area.

The Pine Glades Natural Area has 6,651 acres of restored wetlands open residents of Palm Beach County. Located just west of Jupiter Farms and a short drive from Palm Beach Gardens and The Town of Jupiter, the park has nearly eight miles of hiking trails, a kayak launch, a covered picnic area, a wheelchair accessible restroom, and several boardwalks surrounded by the sounds and sights of natural Florida.

Pine Glades Natural Area is part of the Loxahatchee River watershed and the Northeast Everglades Natural Area. The site had been previously used for now-defunct agricultural purposes and was acquired a piece by piece over the course of 11 years. It…

With depths of 45 to 59-feet, you explore deep undercuts as you approach the northern portion of Breaker’s Reef as it wraps northwest. Along Fourth Windows, you will come…
