The Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter is a place for those who enjoy the fun of the sport. The course features multiple elevations, beautiful views, new landscaping and an outside bar at the 18th hole.

The course was the last one designed by renowned course architect Joe Lee in 1999 before his death. Matching his style, the course has many elevation changes, sloping fairways with few hindrances, 14 holes surrounded by water and picturesque views of the surrounding wetlands and wildlife. Recently the course underwent a $1 million renovation which improved the lake banks, created new landscaping and new golf cart paths, and birthed the Abacoa Golf Club Academy. The Hobe Sound Nature Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting environmental mindfulness in the public. The center was founded in 1973 by and continues to receive major support from the Jupiter Island Garden Club. They conduct environmental education and awareness programs about the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. It is the largest contiguous segment of natural beaches in Southeast Florida.

The Tequesta, Ais, and Jaega native tribes were hunter-gatherers of Jupiter Island and the surrounding area during the 18th century when the Europeans arrived.
