The Resource Depot, located at 2508 Florida Avenue, in West Palm Beach is a superb shop to check out. The Depot sells excess supplies and an eclectic array of items at discount prices.

Resource Depot centers on reusing and repurposing random items donated by businesses and individuals. Artists, educators, and families often pick up assorted items for art projects. Some items are unopened and in packages. Cleaning out closets…donate unused supplies, or slightly used items.

The Earth Day 2022 theme is “invest in our planet”. What will you do in Southeast Florida? EARTHDAY.ORG, together with partners, is proud to present the Earth Day Climate Action Summit. We need to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by mid-century to keep the global temperature below 1,5°C. And while there is still time to solve the climate crisis, time to choose BOTH a prosperous and sustainable future and time to restore nature and build a healthy planet for our children and their children, time is short.

If you are unable to attend the event, do your part to honor Earth Day by:

- Buy a recyclable water bottle. The United States alone consumes fifty billion plastic water bottles annually.

As the saying goes, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Gifted individuals in Southeast Florida recycle castoffs into sensational works of art. See these works of art, created by local artisans, thanks to the “Waste to Wonder” exhibit. The exhibit will run through March 26, 2022. The exhibit is located at Resource Depot GalleRE, 2508 Florida Avenue, in West Palm Beach.  The gallery will be exhibiting local artists that incorporate the reuse of materials into various art forms. The space is intended to showcase what artistically can be done with what most people discard and serves as an educational space to remind people what the imagination can accomplish.

This week, November 9-15th is 'Florida Recycles Week' and leads up to America Recycles Day on Sunday, November 15th. To celebrate, here are some tips & reminders you and your family can do to help do our part to reduce waste.

 

1. Reduce and Reuse

While it may not seem like part of recycling, reducing the amount of materials you use and reusing items instead of tossing them can prevent waste before it starts! Chose items wrapped in paper instead of plastic, use refillable water bottles, and bring reusable bags to the grocery store.

 

2. Know What Can Be Recycled Curbside

It is easy to overlook items that can be recycled or to get confused as to which goes where. The Town of Jupiter provides a blue bin and a yellow bin to every residence.
