The large Southern U.S. grocery store chain Publix is working to keep Southeast Florida farmers in business while also supplying those in need during this difficult coronavirus pandemic. The supermarket giant announced a new initiative Wednesday to purchase fresh produce and milk from farmers, which would then be donated to Feeding America food banks.

 Publix Chief Executive Officer, Todd Jones said, “As a food retailer, we have the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between the needs of families and farmers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In this time of uncertainty, we are grateful to be able to help Florida’s produce farmers, southeastern dairies and families in our communities.”

Good news for all Americans and Southeast Florida residents, White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci expressed “cautious optimism” that the dangerous coronavirus epidemic is slowing in the United States. Dr. Fauci, is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He believes the deadly coronavirus outbreak is slowing down in the country.

Understandably, the country won’t suddenly turn back on like a “light switch,” and be back to the pre-Corona daily living routine.  Fauci said, “there are indications that some of the metrics used to gauge the crisis are starting to level off in some areas”.

Southeast Floridians are all grateful for the medical workers who are risking their lives to treat people during the coronavirus pandemic. BP Petroleum is another corporation helping the heroes on the front lines. The oil producer and convenience store operator will provide up to $2 million in free coffee, fountain drink or hot dogs and fuel discounts to first responders, nurses, doctors and hospital staff as they fight to help communities healthy and safe.

A summary of July 2017 existing home sales in South Florida  indicates sales data showing that housing market activity this July fell from last month, but improved from last year. 

Sales of homes on the market slipped to their lowest level of the year in July 2017. As the conversant undercurrents of "lean supply and enthusiastic demand lingers. It continues to strain the housing market, although it reached 5.44 million,” according to Association of Realtors  The Association of Realtors also noted “that it was down 1.3% from a downwardly-revised June pace. While July’s pace was 2.1% higher than a year ago, it was the lowest since last August”.

Easter Egg Hunts are all the rage with the kids this spring season and Southeast Florida does not disappoint.  Easter falls on Sunday, March 26, 2016 and kids are gearing up for the bunny’s arrival.

The word Easter has an interesting history of origin.  To some it is the celebration of spring’s arrival.  To others it is a religious holiday signifying deliverance.
