Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is getting a major facelift this summer. The spring training home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins, as well as the Florida State League's Palm Beach Cardinals and Jupiter Hammerheads, will undergo a multi-million-dollar renovation starting on July 10th.

The renovations will include new clubhouses, bullpens, and batting cages for the players, along with new scoreboards around the stadium. Fans can also expect an improved experience with new seating, concessions, and an upgraded team store.

The Miami Marlins are excited to host two special events for fans to celebrate Independence Day at LoanDepot Park.

On Monday, July 3rd, the Marlins will host a post-game firework show. The show will begin after the 6:40 pm matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals.

On Tuesday, July 4th, fans can enjoy the ultimate ballpark beer tour with Red, White and Brew. The tour will start at 11am and take fans to a handful of the ballpark's beer stands, where they can sample a variety of craft beers from around the country.

Surfing on Palm Beach island is a different story, but the only kind of West Palm Beach surfing is wakeboarding at Shark Wake Park. Our Palm Beach County slice of paradise is not only renowned for its stunning beaches and dreamt-about lifestyle, but also usually has the best surfing in all of South Florida (except for that late September 2022 blast from Hurricane Ian that pretty much bypassed the Palm Beaches completely and blew up in South Beach). This Monday, May 29th is Memorial Day and Boca Raton is hosting their annual Memorial Day Apple Pie 5K and Ice Cream Mile. The run is open to adults and kids, and you can still sign up to be a part of it. 

The 5K and Ice Cream Mile will take place at the YMCA of Boca Raton located on Palmetto Circle South. The race will include top finisher prizes, ice cream and t-shirts to all 1-mile runners, apple pie to all runners, post-race food, raffles, and much more. 

The Memorial Day Apple Pie 5K starts right at 7 am on Monday morning and the Ice Cream Mile Run will begin at 8 am. Kids races (8 years old and younger) will begin at 8:15 am. 

Cost:

Memorial Day Apple Pie 5K: $40 dollars per person

Ice Cream Mile Run: $20 dollars per person

The Town of Jupiter is hosting their annual Turtle Trot 5K Run tomorrow morning along the beach and A1A. Runners and walkers will be taking the starting line bright and early tomorrow morning for the 3.1-mile race. 

This year, the race will start at A1A and Marcinski Road and go north towards the Jupiter Inlet. The turnaround point will be at beach marker #45, just past Jupiter Key Condos. The race will finish back at Ocean Cay Park.

Road closures are expected to begin on race day at 6:45 am and roads are expected to be back open for vehicle traffic around 9 am.  A1A and Marcinski Road will be closed during the Turtle Trot for the walkers and runners.
