Want to kick back and enjoy a ride without worrying about traffic? Want to have a couple drinks at the tournament? The new Brightline connection might be the way to go for you. Leaving from West Palm Beach, the Brightline to Orlando will take you about 2 hours and 15 minutes, which is 15 to 30 minutes faster than driving without traffic. With traffic, who knows how much time you could save as you head towards the highly anticipated 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The Journey Begins: West Palm Beach to Orlando

Depending on where you live in Palm Beach County, getting to the Brightline station in West Palm is very easy, and there's a dedicated parking garage right across the street from the station. If you've never taken the Brightline before, then you might be surprised. The stations feel more like a small, new part of a nice airport terminal.

As of Tuesday, March 5th, ticket prices are getting interesting. In a handful of cases, the standard "Smart" ticket is actually more expensive than the "Premium" ticket. Premium tickets include more legroom, complimentary snacks and beverages, lounge access, and access to business tools.

Brightline Smart vs Premium ticketAs of now, if you leave on Thursday, the cheapest ticket from West Palm to Orlando is $49, as is the cheapest returning ticket on Sunday. So, if you have tickets to the whole tournament and are planning on staying up there throughout, then you could get there and back for $98 (not including taxes and fees). You'll probably spend more on gas, tolls, and parking if you drive.

The most expensive ticket combo would run you $318 for the round-trip (not including taxes and fees).

Is the Brightline Worth the Cost?

Everyone's situation is different, and we're not recommending you do one thing or another. For instance, if you live in Jupiter and you've got an electric car with driver-assist or partial autopilot, then the above scenarios probably don't affect you as much, and driving probably makes sense for you. But if you live in a downtown West Palm waterfront condo, then the train might be hard to beat
