If you haven't had the opportunity to enjoy a night like this, then you are missing out! This is what every Thursday night at the Sailfish Marina is like. Picture this, the atmosphere is filled with flowing music, the scenery is a beautiful boardwalk, lined with people and art and a breath taking backdrop of the turquoise waters. This is the Sunset Celebration on Singer Island!
Every Thursday evening from 6-9pm, you will enjoy the a wide variety of stunning works from artists around the nation. Creations like blown glass, pottery, wooden sculpture, silver and gold jewelry and more. Local musicians display their talents by singing, guitar and steel drums for your listening pleasure. Famous island tunes such as Jimmy Buffet and more create a great ambiance while you stroll the boardwalk and browse the art. The wildlife is abundant, pelicans dot the water and gulls fly through the sky. The reefs lining the sea wall are full of colorful sea creatures and occasionally you will a dolphin or turtle pop up to say hello.
Each week there are 35 unique artists that display their works at the Sunset Celebration, some of the vendors even come from as far as Seattle to exhibit their talents. The Sailfish Marina Resort offers a classic South Florida setting of fresh seafood restaurant and yachting marina. The restaurant faces Peanut Island on the Intracoastal Waterway and just south of the resort is the Lake Worth inlet. There is plenty of seating area inside, as well as outside; to watch all the boats cruise by. There is not a bad seat in the house. If a sit down dining experience isn’t in the plan for the night, the restaurant sets up a stand along the waterfront selling their famous “Grouper Dogs” and delicious Conch Fritters! When you come to the Sunset Celebration it almost like taking a mini vacation in your own backyard!
Stroll the docks, take in the art, enjoy the music and you’ll be sure to find treasure here. Whether you buy some art or just browse, stop by on any Thursday evening at sunset. It is perfect for people of all ages, kids and adults alike. Even our furry friends are welcomed on their leashes!
